VolusiaExposed.Com is happy to report that a Volusia County Sheriff deputy recently saved the life of a drowning baby.

Twenty Two year old Deputy Cody Cochran is a true hero, to both the Volusia County Sheriff Department and to all the citizens he serves.

Deputy Cochran noted that the call really hit close to home for him because he has a baby himself who is almost exactly the same age as the one he saved. He also noted that he thought that being dispatched to such a highly-emotional call might impact his responses, but when he arrived he was able to block out all external forces, focus on the baby (who was unresponsive and limp, not breathing and had no pulse at the time) and its immediate medical needs and instinctively revert back to his training. He indicated that after about 30 seconds of CPR efforts, the baby showed its first signs of life. He also recalled the feeling of elation upon responding to the hospital and learning that the baby was fine and was expected to have a full recovery.
