DOES THIS BRING INTO QUESTION THE IMPARTIALITY OF OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM?

Within our February 28, 2018 article we (VolusiaExposed.Com) expressed our concern on whether Volusia County government was complying with their own employee merit rules by keeping suspended Fire Lietenuant on a paid leave status while his domestic violence case is processed through the local judicial system.

Court records indicate that Lt. Szabo was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery with strangulation in late January 2018.

VolusiaExposed.Com expresses NO OPINION on the veracity of the criminal charge filed against Lt. Szabo.

Since the posting of our February 28, 2018 article, we have received word from several annonymous individuals that Lt. Szabo has family connections within the local law enforcement and judicial communities. These annonymous individuals expressed their concern that these family legal connections may be manipulated in a manner to bring quick resolution to Szabo's legal problems.

A reseach of local social media records APPEARS to indicate that Lt. Stephen Szabo is the son of Stephen and Martha Szabo. The elder Szabo appears to be a retired Daytona Beach PD police captain, while Martha Szabo appears to be employed by the local court system as a Court Service Officer. Martha's employment was confirmed via an email from the judicial circuit's public information officer.

Within this article we have secured (3) three Facebook screen shots from (3) three separate Facebook pages.

The first (top) screenshot is from Circuit Court Judge Karen Foxman's election campaign Facebook page. Martha Szabo appears to offer "Karen" (aka Judge Karen Foxman to the rest of us) an observation.

The second (middle) screenshot is from Martha Szabo's Facebook site - it appears to be a picture of her husband (Stephen) at his October 2010 retirement party with Captain Craig Capri - currently known as Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri.

The third (bottom) screenshot is from Lt. Szabo's own Facebook page. The screenshot incorporates a picture of mother and son.

A search of the Clerk of the Court records indicate that Lt. Szabo has a past minor criminal history to include a misdemeanor charge of battery involving a bar fight. The charging report was filed by the Daytona Beach PD (Senior Szabo's employer). So hopefully, it is not too much of a surprised - that the State Attorney opted to drop the prosecution.

Routinely, we hear from mothers and fathers alleging that their sons or daughters are being railroaded through the local criminal justice system. They want to know the secret of how to survive Volusia's criminal justice system.

It would appear that the Szabos have found the secret.... get in tight with the judges......know the police chiefs....and have a family member that is employed within the court system...does it help - heck who knows - but it sure doesn't seem to hurt...now does it?

Does any of this make the Szabos bad people.....HECK NO...BUT IT SURE BRINGS INTO QUESTION THE IMPARTIALITY OF OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM

Welcome to Florida - the rules are different here .... welcome to Volusia County - where there are NO RULES.

Stand by to stand by - there is surely more to come of this......
