Did the Volusia County Beach Patrol allow an
illegal alien who provided falsified identification and educational documents to be a sworn law enforcement officer for over 12 years?

We here at VolusiaExposed.Com have received evidence that the Volusia County Beach Patrol employed an individual (Daryl Shone) from the mid 1980s to 2007, that apparently was hired using false identification and educational documents. It has also been alleged that Mr. Shone, was in fact an illegal alien when he was originally hired as a lifeguard (1986).

In 1998, Shone was successful in obtaining his United States citizenship and shortly thereafter applied for a law enforcement position within the Volusia County Beach Patrol. During his background investigation it was discovered by Volusia County officials that Shone had provided fraudulent paperwork (social security, education documents etc.) to secure his initial 1986 employment with Volusia County. Amazingly, Shone WAS hired as a law enforcement officer by the Beach Patrol, even through his background check found that he did not meet the State of Florida moral character standards.

Negative pre-employment background investigation - Why was he then hired by Volusia County as a Beach patrol Officer?

What adds insult to injury in the hiring of this person, is that apparently he had a very colorful disciplinary history with Volusia County. It has been alleged that this employee engaged in domestic violence, sexual harassment and of course false statements in regards to his employment application. It is of great significance that our reliable source alleges that even after Volusia County became aware that this employee had provided false documents to obtain his employment, he was NOT terminated.

Officer Shone went on to have a VERY colorful employment history with Volusia County. He had several allegations of domestic violence filed against him. During a 2002 incident his spouse alleged that he threatened to shoot a .40 caliber bullet into the back of her head (strange, isn't this also the unknown Daytona Beach serial killer's M.O.?). He was also alleged to have engaged in sexual harassment.

This situation has great significance to the apparent on going corruption within the Volusia County Department of Public Protection.

If an illegal alien can lie and provide false identification and educational documentation and then become a certified law enforcement officer, why should we be surprised that a convicted felon worked as a certified Volusia County corrections officer for over 20 years?

If an illegal alien can be a certified law enforcement officer in violation of Florida law, then why should we be surprised that correctional officers can file fraudulent reports or refuse to provide emergency medical care regarding in custody jail deaths?

If the Volusia County Department of Public Protection Internal Affair section can not properly conduct background checks on law enforcement applicants, then why should we be surprised on how the Fire Services sexual harassment scandal was apparently manipulated?

Can we actually depend on the VCDPP Internal Affairs section to properly investigate the alleged statutory rapes in the Volusia County Beach Patrol?
